Description: 

   I would like to host an event that fosters community, holds an era of nostalgia…? but is also new and wholesome! A pie eating contest sounds familiar…yeah, from the movie Stand Bye Me, but has anyone ever been to one? 

   I would like to make this a reality. I would like to create an event that is centered around an activity, a focal point, that is memorable and ridiculous and gives people a story to talk about and enjoy. The world needs good things going on! 

   I would like to host a pie eating contest at my Art Walk site to promote functional art (ceramic pie plates/casserole dishes). As a person who makes art for daily use, I think it’s important to see how handmade, everyday items, can spark creativity, meaning, and fun. Art brings community together, and the Art Walk provides a perfect opportunity for fun and quirky moments that might not show up at other events. I’d love to make this a tradition at my site!  

Comedians: 

*Hopefully Matty Ryan or Pat McGann can host; Mike Ellis said he would host. 

Would like to get a panel of 3 comedians to do 5min of jokes, and  square off with the contestants and create banter and maybe some light roasting…. During the event.

Live Music: 

Anthony Massaro and Dave Waterman acoustic, playing on kitchen roof.

Potentially 3 categories- Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s (12-18) 

Prizes for categories, maybe money from sponsors?..... 

Stage…..? A stage/riser would be awesome! Large Banner behind with Logo and sponsors

Put out a Google sign up form with pie choices, apple, blue berry, pumpkin?....

*kids, whipped cream…could have a ton a  kids participate?.....
